What do I need to apply?

There are no formal requirements, but there are qualities that are valued greatly.

These are:

Having a flexible mind, open to new ideas and ways of thinking.
Critical thinking skills, the ability to think and come to your own conclusions.
Friendliness, approaching conversation and disagreement in a supportive way.
Deep engagement with the ideas presented.
Prioritising action when you have the reasons to do so.

You will enjoy the EA Scholars Program if you:

love philosophical and interesting discussions.
enjoy learning about new ideas.
want to meet others who want to do more good in their lives.
want to learn practical (some easy, some hard) ways to have a beneficial impact on the world.

Given there are a limited number of spaces available in this program, we hope that applicants engage thoughtfully with the application questions, and provide as much information as is useful.

Displaying the qualities we value, listed above, and further embodying those values is important. Showing a degree of critical thought and reflection, especially with regard to doing good to others, is essential.
